How to fight mosquitoes with organic repellents

Mosquitoes are like the unwelcomed guests at home. Who loves these mosquitoes?

It is one of the best organic mosquito repellent. Take few drops of base oil such is olive oil, coconut oil or jojoba oil. Mix few drops of thyme oil and stir the ingredients well. Apply it on your skin.

Mix Thyme oil and water together and use it for spray.


Greek Catnip oil:

It belongs to the mint family and wards off the mosquitoes easily. It produces white and pink flowers which grows up to 18 inches.


The bruised leaves are the most valuable part of the plant as the juice that they produce serves as natural mosquito repellent. It can easily ward off the mosquitoes for 2 to 3 hours.


The process can be repeated once in every 3 hours if you have too much of mosquitoes.


Soybean Oil:

All the soybean products works on the mosquitoes. It has been researched and proved. Take few drops of soybean oil and apply on the mosquito prone areas of your body.


The mosquito repellent has citronella ingredient which attacks the mosquitoes.  However, soybean oil is said to be more effective than repellents that contains citronella. You can also add few drops of lemongrass oil to it to make it more effective.


Lemon Eucalyptus Oil:


This oil has been used as natural mosquito since 1940.


It has also been approved by Centers for disease Control and Prevention as an effective organic mosquito repellent. A small dose of lemon eucalyptus oil can save you from mosquitoes for 3-4 hours.


Take few drops of lemon eucalyptus oil in a glass bowl. Add few drops of sunflower oil and mix all the ingredients. Use it on your skin.



Eucalyptus oil is very strong, hence you got to  be slightly careful  if you have a sensitive skin. Do a patch test before applying the mixture to entire skin.
